In the Early Vedic Period (beginning about 1500 BC) several kingdoms existed in the Bihar plain. North of the Ganges was Videha, one of the kings,Raja Janak, who was the father of Princess Sita, the wife of Lord Rama.

Yes minded!! Not your age-old historical story, but the headline of the story that is completely wrong from the grammar point of view.

Besides a sentence in the story that says: ”Raja Janak. which was the father of Princess Sita,” The whole sentence has been crippled by your poor knowledge of English language. The sentence should go like ”Raja Janak, who was the father of Princess Sita”

And you do mind it here, most of the Biharis are known and acclaimed for having sound of knowledge of English grammar.

Apart from all these, don’t forget the contribution all those who are left behind just because of the bloody favourasim in our society.

So, mind the headline next time to write it correctly. The present headline should be ” We pride of Biharis” or ”We are proud of Biharis.”

Thanks and do mind my comment.

Thanks Dharmendra, I was really upset seeing so many grammatical mistakes in an article that has made to the Home page of Instablogs! Editors should take note and edit an article properly. And Madhusudan...what is the need to specify the glories of Bihar?? Whatever examples you have given all belong to yester years...please give some figures from present day situations in Bihar!

I am SHOCKED to see such a great piece of art exhibited under the insignia- INSTABLOGS. I don’t know whether it is an editorial mistake or some serious technical error that saw this refined and fabulous writer, who demands others to join his fanciful ideology, through unchecked.

I request people to stop using words like ’dear’ They bring down the image of the website and it is ridiculous to read such posts. It puts people off.

I really hope for your own sake that that is not your photo in your profile and you are actually more like many 10 year olds who write so much so badly. I wonder how this got through and while i do not want to be judgmental, it is hard to really not laugh and trip over many times through this piece. I will still give you the benefit of doubt and assume that you just wanted to write about Bihar in Lalu’s Lingo :)

Technically though, you classify Sita as a HISTORICAL character and that too with certainity, that should really make BJP, RSS and the likes really happy...

Madhusudan you only devoted a small para to highlight the achievements of Bihar and Biharis in the new millennium... don’t you think using historical and mythical background and the fact that our first President was born there, to boast up the image of the state is a bit more like resting on one’s laurels?? I’m from UP myself, I live in Shimla, and I have a chachi who is a Biharan... I’m damn proud of the grit of the people of Bihar who have managed to hold on for so long in infamy almost... You should have included Shatrughan Sinha and Shekhar Suman in the list... And I sincerely hope all the talented Biharis step out of the shadows and make their mark for real....

@ Madhusudan,
Firstly I never wanted to start any controversy regarding your write up, I pointed out what I felt was wrong. I only said that the article was full of grammatical mistakes...which unfortunately is very true! I am also from the East, and I feel very proud of the achievement of the people of Bihar. In fact, this year the first ranker of IIT JEE is from Patna!! You should have mentioned that in your article. At the same time, I will definitely raise my voice if I feel that an article has got excellent content but very poor in format and language.
